Po is the name of the panda in the film Kung Fu Panda who serendipitously becomes a kung fu master inspite of all odds. The name Po embodies this spirit of chance or fate that brought three musicians from vastly different backgrounds together. Add some electricity to this combination and you have Electrik Po !

       The music of Electrik-Po reflects perfectly the symbolism of this "Electrik" Panda in the physical form of Buddha                    embodying Strength, Softness and Peace, while the soul (Po meaning "Soul" in Mandarin) is festive and in constant                                        moth on. It presents a vision of the world as it is today, still wild, animalistic and hyper urban.

With influences ranging from the smooth, ambient electro of Niels Petter Molvaer to the weighty, Lo-fi sounds of Massive Attack or Portishead, the band also fuses an orientalist melodic approach, comparable to the style of Ibrahim Maalouf with the rhythmic adventurism of the Balkan Beat Box collective. On stage, Electrik-Po brings to light this contrast between today’s urban, hyper computerized world and the organic animal that always lives within us.

Po est le nom du panda dans le film Kung Fu Panda qui devient par hasard un maître de kung-fu malgré toutes les probabilités. Le nom Po incarne cet esprit de hasard ou de destin qui a réuni trois musiciens d’horizons très différents. Ajoutez de l’électricité à cette combinaison et vous avez Electrik-Pô.

La musique d’Electrik-Pô reflète parfaitement les symboliques de ce Panda “Electrique” au corps de Bouddha incarnant à la fois La Force, La Douceur et la Paix. Une musique de voyage et de danse, l’âme du groupe. (Pô signifiant “Ame “en Mandarin. Une vision aussi du monde tel qu’il est aujourd’hui toujours aussi sauvage, animal et hyper urbain. 

Dans un style alliant l’electro smooth ambiant d’un Niels Petter Molvaer,  , au Low file de Massive Attack ou d’un Portishead relax, d’un orientalisme proche d’Ibrahim Maalouf, et quelques aventures Balkano-beat-boxienne, Electrik-Pô réuni sur scène cette vie entre l’hyper urbain d’aujourd’hui et l’animal organique qui reste toujours en nous.
